Move it Move it Monday
Move It Move It Monday - a program to help children develop balance and movement skills.
Children develop at different rates, for some children, co-ordinating movement and being able to throw, catch and balance develops naturally; however some children require additional help to enable them to perform complex motor movements required during everyday sport based activities.
The purpose of the movement group is to improve the necessary underlying skills needed to perform the complex gross motor movements. Complex Gross motor movements are needed in many sports and activities, such as football, basketball, throwing, catching, balancing and skipping.
The main aims of the Move It Move It group are:• To improve hand eye co-ordination, targeting, throwing and catching skills• To improve balance and gain confidence in directional movement
Which children are appropriate for the Move It Move It group?
Children who are having difficulty performing simple and complex movements are appropriate for the movement group. Children who often find sports difficult, appear uncoordinated or clumsy and who struggle with the following movements are suitable for the movement group:• Throwing at a target accurately• Catching a beanbag, large ball or tennis ball• Jumping with two feet simultaneously• Hopping• Balance based activities• Team games• Basic ball handling skills
The Move it Move it group will be led by a qualified facilitator and children will be assisted in all activities by a 1:1 support worker. The group approach allows for Social Skill Development in a small group setting and helps to prepare your child for further community engagement and social activities.

Literacy and Learning Support Not currently being offered
Ready Set Read, our fun yet highly effective approach to language development; this program avoids the anxiety attached to learning difficulties and helps children become confident learners. Reading for fun helps to improve all the obvious things; vocabulary knowledge, spelling and comprehension, but it also helps a lot with self-esteem. Confident readers are confident kids, they are more willing to take risks in other learning areas and develop a healthy growth mindset. They are less likely to be overwhelmed by new tasks or unsettling situations. The program focuses on building sound knowledge and language development, which has a positive outcome for reading and spelling, drastically reducing the anxiety of a range of learning situations. The program consists of 8 tutorial sessions once a week for 45 minutes.
We have had fabulous success with this program, with participants all achiveing great results and enjoying reading much more. Just look at some of the great feedback we are receiving from happy parents: * This Reading program is fun, inclusive to all children and the results are amazing. My daughter Peyton has a hearing Impairment and needed assistance with her literacy skills. After a term of the program Peyton went up a whole level in reading also her confidence in herself, and other literacy components just flourished as well. Her writing and spelling as has also improved. The girls at Engage and Grow make this program fun and mix the ages which is great. The kids are challenged and improve so fast. Highly recommend this to anyone needing a little extra support with reading or any literacy.Kate Armistead
*Thank you Tammy for helping my little man! This time last year I was at my wits end, not knowing what to do. My grade 3 son was reading at a (barely) grade 1 level and I was unsure what to do next. I knew he was struggling and his self confidence was really starting to deteriorate. It upset me hearing him say words like “I just can’t Mum” or “I’m just stupid Mum” 😢So after just 7 sessions in Tammy’s literacy program, he is kicking goals. He actually WANTS to read now. He is finally happy at school. His teachers have noticed a huge difference and I think he has actually realised that this program is what has helped him 😊
So in short..... I cannot recommend this program highly enough.THANK YOU!!! 😘Andrea Spooner
